Waterfrom Design and style were encouraged to produce a tranquil, harmonious setting for the TEA Community Centre in Xiamen, China. The building is set throughout two stages, just one of which is beneath the floor and concealed beneath a pool of water. A spherical inner courtyard spans across equally floors, with a tree planted at its centre referencing conventional collecting spots in Chinese villages. 50 percent of the courtyard is enclosed by glass, letting natural light to penetrate the underneath-ground ground and give views of the tree.
